Friends and Family Test

Starting from April 2013, you will be asked whether you would recommend hospital wards and A&E departments to your friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment. This means every patient in these wards and departments will be able to give feedback on the quality of the care they receive.

From October 2013, the test will also be available to women who use maternity services, and as soon as possible after to everyone using NHS services.

The test results will be published on NHS Choices beginning July 2013.

Privacy and dignity - same sex accommodation

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) is committed to providing high quality care to patients, carers and relatives at all times and provides a service which upholds their privacy and dignity at each stage of their care and treatment.

We are proud to confirm that we are compliant with the Governments requirement to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation, except when it is in the patients overall best interest, or reflects their personal choice. Sharing with members of the opposite sex will only happen in exceptional circumstances such as where patients need urgent or very specialised care; or when patients actively choose to share.

Children and young people often benefit and feel more comfortable sharing with others their own age, rather than their own sex. Staff will ask the child or young person if they have a preference and will meet this request wherever possible.

HHFT has a reporting and auditing system to ensure that we are achieving our aim of providing single-sex accommodation for our patients.

We want to know about your experiences. If you have any comments or concerns please contact our patient experience manager via email enquiries@hhft.nhs.uk

Beef Products

Further to national news reports about the presence of other meats in beef products, we will not be serving any processed beef products at any of our hospitals until we are advised that the current situation is resolved.
